Katy Hind

Dr. Katy Hind is an Associate Teaching Professor in Biology at the University of New Brunswick. She specializes in innovative pedagogy for large-enrollment biology courses, employing evidence-based active learning strategies. Her research spans Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) and marine phycology, particularly seaweed biodiversity and coralline algae ecology.

Her pedagogical research focuses on enhancing student learning in biology through curriculum development and teaching assistant training. In marine biology, she conducts taxonomic and ecological studies of calcifying algae, with fieldwork at Bamfield Marine Sciences Centre.
