Katrine Hass Rubin is a Professor at the Department of Clinical Research, Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Southern Denmark (SDU), affiliated with Odense University Hospital and the Research Unit OPEN (Odense). Her work focuses on epidemiology, register-based research, and data-driven predictive modeling for osteoporosis and fracture prevention.
Research Interests: She integrates national health registries with cohort studies to explore osteoporosis, fracture epidemiology, autoimmune diseases in transgender and PCOS populations, diabetes complications, and machine learning applications for fracture risk prediction (e.g., the FREM algorithm). Her research emphasizes population screening, comorbidity analysis, and algorithmic transparency in clinical decision-making.
Projects: Lead investigator in the CHOICE project (2025-2029) and supervisor for PhD students studying fracture prediction, bone mineral density trajectories, and diabetes complications. Active in teaching register-based clinical epidemiology.
Collaborations: Engaged with the European Calcified Tissue Society and Fragility Fracture Network Denmark, presenting keynotes on bone health and AI-driven screening.
