Katrin Stoll is a leading Holocaust scholar affiliated with the Imre Kertész Kolleg Jena since 2019. She specializes in Holocaust historiography, survivor testimonies, and perpetrator studies, with a focus on Polish-German dynamics. Her research examines early Jewish survivor scholarship, such as the Nachman Blumental Collection, which she safeguarded and transferred to the YIVO Institute.
- PhD in History from University of Bielefeld (2008)
- Former Research Fellow at German Historical Institute Warsaw (2010-2018)
- Member of PREMEC Research Group on Early Shoah Writing
- Edited over 10 volumes on Holocaust history, memory politics, and post-war trials
Her work bridges historiography and memory, analyzing antisemitism in Poland, German historiographic blind spots, and the spatial legacies of Nazi crimes. Recent projects include re-evaluating Blumental's linguistic studies on the Shoah and investigating wartime railway deportations from Pruzhany to Auschwitz.
Key contributions include exposing Polish complicity in Holocaust atrocities and challenging nationalist narratives in post-communist Poland. She critiques the 'fascization' of public spaces and advocates for transnational Holocaust scholarship free from ideological bias.
