Katrin Lehismets

Katrin Lehismets is a Senior Lecturer and Vocal Coach at the Department of Vocal Studies, Mozarteum University. She specializes in vocal pedagogy, opera performance, and music education, with extensive experience as a répétiteur and accompanist across international theaters and festivals. Her career spans roles at the Salzburg Festival, Estonian Music Academy, and institutions in Lower Bavaria, Tyrol, and Egypt. She is affiliated with the School of Music & Art Education and maintains collaborations in contemporary music through her membership in the Aspekte New Music Ensemble.

Education includes studies at the Estonian Academy of Music, Hanns Eisler University of Applied Sciences (Berlin), and Mozarteum University, where she graduated with distinction. Her performing career includes engagements at Prague’s Estates Theater, Cairo and Alexandria opera houses, and international festivals like Prague Spring and Solothurn Classics.

Research interests focus on vocal technique integration with dramatic expression, particularly in opera and art song. She has pioneered opera coaching programs, notably at Musiktheater Bavaria, and led workshops blending vocal training with contemporary performance practices. Her awards include grants from the Estonian Cultural Foundation and competition prizes in Estonia.
