Katrin L. Blamey

Katrin L. Blamey is a Professor and Associate Dean of the School of Education at DeSales University, where she also chairs the Education Department and coordinates the Early Childhood and Elementary Education Program within the College of Arts, Education, and Humanities.

Her research focuses on:

• developmentally appropriate teaching practices
• vocabulary instruction methodologies
• literacy interventions for struggling readers
• elementary education pedagogy

With extensive experience in early childhood educational settings including Head Start programs, Dr. Blamey has served as a teacher educator for many years. She teaches undergraduate and graduate courses covering Early Childhood Foundations, Literacy Methods, Reading Assessment, and Children's Literature, emphasizing practical applications for diverse learning environments.
