Katrien Jansen is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Medicine, KU Leuven, affiliated with the Department of Development and Regeneration. She contributes to the Leuven Institute for Rare Diseases (Leuven.IRD) and serves on the Faculty of Medicine Council and Department of Development and Regeneration Council as senior academic staff.
- Research Focus: Neurological disorders in pediatrics, including epilepsy, neurodevelopmental outcomes, and wearable monitoring technologies.
- Teaching: Delivers courses on neurological aspects of pediatric rehabilitation and clinical problem-solving skills.

- Disease-modifying genetic therapies for Dravet syndrome
- Neurovascular coupling in congenital heart disease infants
- Wearable EEG for long-term seizure detection
