Katja Schulz serves as a Privatdozent (PD) and veterinarian specialist at the Institute of Epidemiology (IfE) within the Friedrich-Loeffler-Institut in Greifswald, Germany. Holding both a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree and a Master of Science in One Health, she brings interdisciplinary expertise to her role as a recognized specialist in veterinary epidemiology and public health.
Her research program centers on:
- Analysis of animal disease surveillance data to assess disease progression
- Evaluation of surveillance and control measure effectiveness
- Integration of social science methodologies in epidemiological practice
- Development and application of participatory epidemiology approaches
- Conducting qualitative risk assessments for animal health challenges
