Prof. Dr. Katja Koch serves as Institute Director at the University of Rostock. She holds the chair in "Pedagogy with a focus on intellectual development" and is based at August-Bebel-Str. 28, Room 5011. Her office hours are by appointment via email.
Prof. Koch's research focuses on several key areas within education and pedagogy:
- Special Education and intellectual development
- Inclusion and transition in educational settings
- History of pedagogy, particularly in the GDR context
- Socialist school systems and their theoretical versus practical implementations
Prof. Koch leads the Competence Center for Inclusion and Transition and oversees the book series "Contributions to the History of Pedagogy in the GDR." She also manages the "Socialist School between Claim and Reality - Pedagogical Readings Office."
