Katie Snow is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University College Dublin's School of English, Drama and Film, funded by the Wellcome Trust project 'Drinking Cultures: The Cultural Reception of Medical Developments Related to Alcohol in Ireland 1700-1900'. She previously held positions at the Universities of Exeter and Plymouth. Her research focuses on medical humanities, exploring intersections of the body, medicalization, visual culture, and humor in historical contexts. She holds a PhD from the University of Exeter, alongside a Master’s and undergraduate degree from the University of Kent.
Her work includes a forthcoming monograph, Private Parts: Sex, Satire and the Celebrity Breast, 1770-1820, and co-edited volume Sick Jokes: Visual Histories of Humour and Health. She has published on inclusivity in anatomy education, art in medical humanities, and the role of satire in historical representations of medicine. Her research has been supported by grants such as the Royal Historical Society Career Development Fellowship and Wellcome Trust Early Career Foundation Award.
