Katie Rogers is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Anthropology, Sociology, and Criminal Justice at Regis University, affiliated with Regis College. Her work explores intersections of race, gender, and class, alongside organizational inequity and crime/justice dynamics.
- Ph.D. in Sociology with a Women’s and Gender Studies portfolio from the University of Texas at Austin
Her research focuses on social inequalities, particularly in cannabis legalization processes in the U.S., analyzing systemic benefits and exclusions. She employs multi-method approaches, including fieldwork in dispensaries and media analysis. Funded by the National Science Foundation, her studies highlight commercialization’s societal impacts.
Supported by NSF funding, Dr. Rogers’ recent project examines cannabis legalization through observational and interview-based methods. She has received recognition from the American Sociological Association and Sociologists for Women in Society for her publications in Law & Society Review. At Regis, she teaches foundational and advanced courses in sociology and criminology.
