Katie Manning is a Professor of Writing at Point Loma Nazarene University, where she specializes in poetry and women writers and teaches courses in creative writing, literature, and linguistics. As the founding editor-in-chief of Whale Road Review, she contributes to literary publishing while maintaining an active presence in poetry communities through readings, interviews, and anthologies.
Her academic work intersects with her creative practice, focusing on lyric innovation, personal narrative, and interdisciplinary themes such as game studies, spiritual reflection, and medical experiences. Manning's recent publications include poems in Presence, The Creative Process, Villain Era, and the chapbook How to Play (2022).
