Univ.-Prof. Kathy Lüdge is a Professor at Technische Universität Ilmenau, leading the Department of Theoretical Physics II since November 2021. She holds a doctorate in solid-state physics (2003) and habilitation in nonlinear carrier dynamics (2011) from TU Berlin, recognized by the Karl Scheel Prize (2012). Her career includes visiting roles at the University of Minnesota (2002), Freie Universität Berlin (2015 visiting professor), and University of Auckland (2016 as Humboldt Feodor-Lynen Fellow). Previously, she was a university professor at TU Berlin (2016–2021), heading the Department of Nonlinear Laser Dynamics.
Her research focuses on theoretical investigations of semiconductor device emission properties, numerical optimization methods, spatio-temporal dynamics simulations, and machine learning applications in physics. With over 100 publications in top journals, her work bridges quantum optoelectronics and computational modeling.
