Kathy Gilreath

Kathy Gilreath is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Pre-licensure Nursing at Indiana Wesleyan University. She transitioned to full-time faculty in 2020 after serving as an adjunct professor since 2017. With over 20 years of nursing experience, her clinical background includes roles as a nurse practitioner in neurology, wound care, primary care, occupational health, urgent care, and geriatrics. She holds a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from Indiana Wesleyan University (2021), a Master of Nursing (MN) from Armstrong Atlantic State University (2002), and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from the same institution (1999).

Her research interests focus on trauma-informed care, HIV management, and intercultural studies, reflecting her intercultural experiences related to China and Chinese culture. She resides in Indiana with her husband and five children.
