Kathryn McGarry is an Associate Professor in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point (UWSP), where she has been a faculty member since 2016. She serves as an advisor for the UWSP Chemistry Club and emphasizes evidence-based teaching techniques and state-of-the-art instrumentation in both classroom and research settings.

Her research focuses on organic synthesis and the development of safety practices in academic chemical laboratories. Her publications include studies on copper-catalyzed etherification reactions and student-driven safety culture improvements.
Notable professional recognition includes acceptance into the U.S. Department of Energy Visiting Faculty Program (2022), a 10-week summer research initiative. She actively contributes to the American Chemical Society as Executive Committee Chair of the Central Wisconsin ACS Local Section since 2018.
