Kathryn Lawson is a Research Fellow in the Humanities at the University of King's College, affiliated with the Contemporary Studies School and the Foundation Year Program. She holds a PhD from Queen's University, where her dissertation focused on Simone Weil's philosophy and environmental ethics in the Anthropocene, later published as Decreation for The Anthropocene: Simone Weil and Environmental Ethics (Routledge, 2024). During her PhD, she was a visiting graduate student at Cambridge University's Faculty of Divinity.

Her research spans interdisciplinary domains, including Continental philosophy, environmental ethics, aesthetics, Indian philosophy, and philosophy of religion. She has lectured at Queen’s and Carleton Universities and edited volumes on Hannah Arendt/Simone Weil dialogues (2024) and Jean-Luc Marion's work (2017). Peer-reviewed articles explore topics like aesthetic intersubjectivity (2020) and cross-cultural ethics (2019).
