معرفی
Kathryn Lawson, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Genetics at Midwestern University. She holds additional appointments in the Arizona College of Optometry, College of Dental Medicine-Arizona, and College of Graduate Studies - Arizona.
Education
- Ph.D., University of Arizona, 1998
- B.S., University of Arizona, 1992
Research Interests
Dr. Lawson's research investigates cell adhesion proteins (P-cadherin and N-cadherin) in cancer development. Key focus areas include:
- P-cadherin's role in non-small cell lung cancer progression and patient survival.
- Chemoresistance mechanisms in Oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma via P-cadherin signaling pathways.
- N-cadherin's metabolic impacts, including the Warburg effect in oral cancer.
Grants
- MWU Intramural Grant: P-Cadherin Signaling in Oral Tumor Development
Laboratory
Her lab utilizes genetically-modified human cell lines and proteomics to study cadherin-driven signaling in tumor development and therapeutic resistance.
