Kathryn F. Kirchoff-Torres

Kathryn F. Kirchoff-Torres, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Neurology at Albert Einstein College of Medicine and an attending neurologist at Montefiore Medical Center. She holds dual appointments in Neurology and the Department of Medicine (Critical Care). Her clinical expertise focuses on acute cerebrovascular disorders, including ischemic stroke, intracerebral hemorrhage, and vascular malformations, with an emphasis on emergency care and recurrent stroke prevention.

Dr. Kirchoff-Torres earned her B.S. in Neuroscience from the University of Rochester (1999) and her M.D. from SUNY Stony Brook School of Medicine (2004). She completed postgraduate training at Mount Sinai School of Medicine: internship in internal medicine (2005), residency in neurology (2008), and dual fellowships in vascular neurology (2009–2010). She is board-certified in Neurology, Vascular Neurology, and Neurovascular Ultrasound Interpretation.

Her research investigates hematological disorders, pregnancy-related cerebrovascular disease, cerebral hyperperfusion syndrome post-carotid revascularization, and cardioembolic stroke mechanisms.
