Prof. Dr. Kathrin Gräßle is Professor of Administration and Organizational Science at Hochschule Düsseldorf's Faculty of Social Sciences and Cultural Studies, appointed in September 2018. She represents the field of Administration and Organizational Science and leads the research focus "Welfare Associations/Social Economy." Her office is located in room 03.2.040, and she teaches courses related to social work administration and organizational theory.
Dr. Gräßle was born in 1966 in Weinheim an der Bergstraße. She studied Educational Science in Tübingen, Copenhagen, and Dortmund, focusing on adult education, social work, and gender research. She completed her dissertation at the University of Duisburg-Essen on the study choice process of mathematically gifted young women.
Her research interests center on school social work, trust relationships, public administration, nonprofit organizations, and project management. She has conducted extensive comparative research between German and Danish educational systems, particularly examining cooperation models between schools and youth services. Her work emphasizes organizational development within public sector contexts and the structural conditions that enable effective school social work.
Dr. Gräßle's publications from 2020-2023 demonstrate a consistent focus on municipal coordination structures for school social work, with particular attention to child protection mechanisms and cross-national comparisons.
