Professor Kathrin Gnoth is a faculty member in the Department of Applied Biosciences and Process Engineering at Anhalt University of Applied Sciences, where she serves as Professor and Degree Program Advisor for the Molecular Biotechnology (Full-Time Program), Master of Science. Based at the Köthen campus, she contributes significantly to both teaching and research in the field of molecular biotechnology with a specialized focus on Alzheimer's disease mechanisms.
Her research interests span molecular biotechnology, Alzheimer's disease research, amyloid-beta studies, immunotherapy development, and enzyme catalysis. Professor Gnoth's work bridges fundamental biochemical research with potential therapeutic applications for neurodegenerative diseases, particularly focusing on protein modifications and their implications for disease progression and treatment.
Professor Gnoth has maintained an active publication record with significant contributions in high-impact journals including Acta Neuropathologica, PLOS ONE, and Alzheimer's Research & Therapy. Her recent work (2017-2024) demonstrates consistent research activity in Alzheimer's disease mechanisms, with particular emphasis on amyloid-beta modifications, enzyme function, and therapeutic approaches.
She is actively involved in academic advising and program leadership for the Molecular Biotechnology Master's program, providing guidance to students interested in biomedical research and biotechnology applications.
