Kathleen Zhang

Kathleen Zhang, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center, specializing in cardio-oncology and cardiac amyloidosis. She joined the faculty in 2022 after completing her medical degree and internal medicine residency at the University of Pennsylvania, followed by cardiology and cardio-oncology fellowships at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. She holds certifications from the American Board of Internal Medicine (Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease) and the National Board of Echocardiography.

Her research focuses on cardiovascular care for cancer patients throughout treatment phases and advancing diagnosis/management of cardiac amyloidosis. She investigates imaging biomarkers, drug cardiotoxicity, and epidemiological patterns in cancer survivors.

Dr. Zhang's publications (2020-2021) predominantly explore cardio-oncology interventions, amyloidosis diagnostics, echocardiographic innovations, and cancer therapy cardiovascular outcomes. Her work integrates clinical studies, mechanistic reviews, and practical guidelines.
