Kathleen Hoss-Cruz

Kathleen Hoss-Cruz is an Instructor in the Department of Food, Nutrition, Dietetics and Health at Kansas State University (KSU), part of the College of Health and Human Sciences. She holds a BS in Dietetics, a Graduate Certificate in Dietetic Internship, an MPH in Public Health Nutrition, and a Master's in Adult Learning & Leadership. Her professional experience spans clinical dietetics, public health nutrition, and academia, with a focus on integrating adult learning principles into nutrition education.

Her research explores maternal and child health, community nutrition programs, and student perceptions of health resources. Notable projects include evaluating infant formula advertising (2010) and collaborating with Guatemala's Vivamos Mejor NGO on health initiatives (2019). She has received awards like Outstanding Young Dietitian (2012) and Greek Professor of the Month (2015).

Teaching includes FNDH 132 (Basic Nutrition) and FNDH 510 (Life Span Nutrition). She has secured grants for curriculum redesign and online education initiatives. Service roles include Canvas Faculty Peer Coach at KSU, leadership in the New Mexico Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics, and contributions to community engagement programs like the Guatemala Education Abroad initiative.
