Kathleen Cazzato

Kathleen Cazzato is an Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Arizona, affiliated with the Department of Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery. She joined the clinical faculty in May 2017 and maintains clinical services at Banner University Medical Center - North Clinic and the on-campus clinic. Her roles include teaching, supervising graduate students, and providing clinical services in medical speech-language pathology.

Research & Clinical Interests: Focuses on swallowing disorders (dysphagia) in adults, neurogenic communication disorders, cognitive-communicative treatment post-traumatic brain injury, and augmentative communication for progressive neurological diseases. Expertise includes Modified Barium Swallow studies, Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing, and the McNeill Dysphagia Therapy Program.

Advising & Clinical Work: Supervises graduate students in clinical settings across acute care, rehabilitation, and outpatient services. Engages in interprofessional care for patients with complex medical communication and swallowing needs.
