Katherine Péloquin is a Full Professor in the Department of Psychology at Université de Montréal, affiliated with the Faculty of Arts and Science. She directs the Laboratoire d'étude du couple and is a member of the CRIPCAS (Centre de recherche interdisciplinaire sur les problèmes conjugaux et les agressions sexuelles). Her research focuses on couple relationships, attachment theory, infertility, and sexual well-being in clinical populations.
Education
Ph.D. in Psychology from Université de Montréal.
Research Interests
- Adult attachment theory and its application to couple dynamics
- Psychological impacts of infertility on couples
- Interventions to improve well-being in distressed couples
- Sexual health and relational stress management
Key Projects
Current research includes studies on:
- Couples' sexual well-being across life stages
- Psychosocial interventions for parents of children with cancer
- Longitudinal analysis of fertility treatment outcomes
Grants & Awards
Recipient of multiple grants from Fonds de recherche du Québec (FRQSC, FRSQ) and Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR), including a 2024 Senior Researcher Grant for understanding couple distress.
Labs & Teams
Leads the Couple Study Lab and collaborates with CRIPCAS on interdisciplinary research in couple problems and sexual aggression.
