Katherine J.W. Baucom

Katherine Baucom is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychology at the University of Utah, where she directs the HEART Lab. Her research examines relationship factors in chronic disease management, particularly diabetes prevention and treatment. She develops couple-based interventions to improve health behaviors and program engagement.

Current projects include randomized trials of dyadic lifestyle interventions and investigations into implementation barriers for diabetes prevention programs. Her work emphasizes inclusive approaches for diverse populations, with studies examining socioeconomic factors affecting program participation and efficacy. Dr. Baucom earned her PhD from UCLA and completed clinical training at UC San Diego/San Diego VA Healthcare System.
