Dr. Katherine Hyatt is an Assistant Professor of Management at Dalton State College (DSC), serving on a tenure-track since August 2024. Previously, she held roles as Lecturer (2021–2024) and Director of DSC’s Mountain Campus (2021–2024). She earned a Doctor of Business Administration (D.B.A.) from Nova Southeastern University (2007), an M.B.A. (2000), and a B.B.A. from the University of Georgia (1998). Additional certifications include a GradCert in Software Engineering (2024) and Executive Coaching (2012).
Her research focuses on semiconductor policy, leadership practices, tax implications of legislation, and higher education management. Key contributions include analyzing the CHIPS Act’s global impact, exploring servant leadership’s role in reducing employee turnover, and examining strategies to combat burnout in academia. Her work bridges theoretical frameworks with practical applications in organizational behavior and public policy.
Dr. Hyatt has published extensively on topics such as situational leadership, tax policy, and ethical frameworks. She actively contributes to academic resources like LibGuides for leadership courses and has reviewed influential educational texts. Her interdisciplinary approach reflects expertise in both business and public policy domains.
