Katherine Dugan is an Associate Professor of Religion and Department Chair of the Department of Humanities, Social Sciences, and Criminal Justice at Springfield College. She is affiliated with the School of Arts and Sciences and serves on the Honors Program Faculty and Staff. Her research focuses on American Catholicism, religion and gender, interfaith studies, and the intersection of religious practice with American culture. She joined Springfield College in 2016.

- Contemporary Catholicism in the U.S.
- Religious experience and its cultural expressions
- Women’s roles in religious institutions
- Religion’s relationship to sports and health
- Interfaith dialogue and education
Teaching: Courses include World Religions, Religion in America, Contemporary Catholicism, and Interfaith Studies.
Publications: Her book Millennial Missionaries: How a Group of Young Catholics is Trying to Make Catholicism Cool (Oxford, 2019) examines young adults’ evangelization efforts on U.S. college campuses.
