Katherine Baker is an Associate Professor and Head of Subject for Physiotherapy at Northumbria University's Sport Exercise and Rehabilitation Department. She holds a PhD in Parkinson's-related movement strategies and a BSc in Physiotherapy. Her research focuses on physical activity's role in managing chronic conditions like Parkinson’s, Crohn’s Disease, and Multiple Sclerosis, with a particular emphasis on neurorehabilitation and patient-centered care.
Education includes a BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy (1996) and a PhD in Movement Strategies for Parkinson’s (2009). Her teaching spans neurology, mental health, and gait analysis. She supervises students across academic levels and has consulted on healthcare projects.
