Katherina Hemmen

Dr. Katherina Hemmen serves as a Staff Scientist in the Core Unit Fluorescence Imaging at the Rudolf Virchow Center for Integrative and Translational Bioimaging, University of Würzburg's Faculty of Medicine. Since 2018, she has specialized in advanced fluorescence microscopy data analysis across multiple imaging modalities including confocal, light sheet, and wide field microscopy.

Her research expertise centers on fluorescence spectroscopy techniques with particular emphasis on Förster Resonance Energy Transfer (FRET), time-resolved fluorescence, and fluorescence anisotropy. Currently, she is establishing fluorescence lifetime imaging spectroscopy in live cells using a 4-channel polarization resolved time-resolved detection module attached to the Zeiss LSM 980.
