Katharine Yamulla serves as Assistant Dean for Clinical Skills Education and Assessment and Director of the Clinical Skills and Simulation Center (CSSC) at New York Medical College School of Medicine, where she holds an Instructor position in Medicine. She founded the CSSC in 2013 and expanded it to serve over 3,000 learners annually through advanced simulation training for clinical skills, communication, and patient safety.
Her educational background includes:
- M.H.E.A. in Higher Education Administration and Assessment from Stony Brook University
- CHSE (Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator) from Society for Simulation in Healthcare
- B.A. in Acting and Directing from DeSales University
Ms. Yamulla specializes in simulation-based medical education, competency assessment, and clinical skills training. Her work integrates experiential learning, interprofessional collaboration, and communication skills to foster culturally competent care, with recent expansions addressing healthcare for patients with disabilities.
Her awards include:

As CSSC director, she oversees a facility with high-fidelity manikins, standardized patients, and 150+ task trainers. Her national leadership includes AAMC's Directors of Clinical Skills Education Executive Council and National Board of Medical Examiners committees, driving innovations in medical education standards and assessment frameworks.
