Katharine Gelber is a Professor of Politics and Public Policy and Deputy Executive Dean at the University of Queensland's Faculty of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences. She previously served as Head of the School of Political Science and International Studies (2019-2023). Her research focuses on freedom of speech, hate speech regulation, and legal frameworks for public discourse, with significant contributions to understanding online speech harms and international hate speech laws.
