Katharina Spaeth

Katharina Spaeth is a Researcher at the Max Planck Institute for Tax Law and Public Finance, specializing in Civil Law, Commercial Law, and Corporate Law. She joined the Institute in February 2024 after completing a legal clerkship at the Higher Regional Court of Celle (2021–2023) with roles at Flick Gocke Schaumburg (corporate law) and DLA Piper (Mergers & Acquisitions). She holds dual legal state examinations (2021, 2023) and graduated from Georg-August-University Göttingen (2015–2021).

Her research focuses on corporate law structures, commercial legal frameworks, and European private law. She contributed to RFamU with an analysis of contractual obligations post-merger. Awards include recognition as one of Lower Saxony’s top law graduates (2021, 2023) and the Klaus-Inhülsen Scholarship (2020).
