Katharina Schmid

Katharina Schmid is a Professor in the Department of People Management and Organisation at Esade Business School, part of the University of Ramon Llull. She is affiliated with the Leadership Development Research Center (GLEAD) and has held roles in multiple research groups, including GRLEAD. Her work focuses on social attitudes, prejudice, discrimination, diversity, and leadership dynamics within organizations.

She has led or participated in numerous research projects funded by institutions such as the European Union, the Spanish Ministry of Science, and Fundació "La Caixa". Key topics include the impact of diversity on group performance, strategies to reduce anti-immigrant prejudice, and the role of identity threat in social exclusion. Current and recent projects include studies on affective polarization in Catalan and Scottish independence movements, and preventing far-right attitudes through social contact.
