Dr. Katharina Schitow serves as Project Coordinator of the BMBF Junior Research Group 'Conditions for the Success of Racism-Sensitive Teacher Training. A Racism-Theoretical Study of Studies, Teacher Training, and Career Entry (GraL)' at Bielefeld University's Faculty of Education. She additionally holds the position of Deputy board member at the Center for Childhood and Youth Research (ZKJF).
Her research focuses on critical approaches to education with particular emphasis on racism and migration dynamics in teacher preparation programs. Dr. Schitow investigates how educational systems can develop anti-racist pedagogical frameworks and better equip future educators to address racial inequalities in classroom settings. Her work connects educational theory with practical implementation in teacher training contexts.
