Katerina Th. Frantzis

Katerina Th. Frantzis is a Professor of Informatics specializing in Construction, Processing and Applications of Text Corpora at the University of the Aegean's Department of Mediterranean Studies. She serves as Director of its Informatics Laboratory and oversees the Interdepartmental Postgraduate Program 'Analysis and Teaching of First and Second/Foreign Languages' alongside the Pedagogical Department of Primary Education. She previously chaired the Department (2018–2022) and manages the 'Chess in Primary Education' initiative under KEDIVIM.

• PhD: Manchester Metropolitan University (UK) via a scholarship with the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology

Research Interests: Focuses on interdisciplinary applications of computational linguistics, including corpus linguistics for language education, political discourse analysis, and archaeocognitive studies. Active in EU-funded projects like CLARIN:EL and APOLLONIS Infrastructure for Digital Humanities.
