Dr. Kate Smith is a Lecturer in Flood Risk Management at the Energy and Environment Institute (EEI) of the University of Hull. She holds a PhD from the University of Sheffield and has taught at institutions including the Open University and Hull York Medical School. Her research focuses on sociohydrology, cultural anthropology, and participatory methodologies to address flood resilience and climate empowerment. She contributes to the EEI’s MSc program and supervises student dissertations. Recent work includes evaluating flood resilience innovations, public art interventions for climate action, and disaster recovery gap analysis.
