Kate Moran is an Associate Professor and Associate Chair of Graduate Programs in Sculpture, Photography, Drawing and Painting at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts (PAFA), where she serves as a Resident Critic for both MFA and Low-Residency MFA Programs.
Her educational background:
- BA from Antioch College, Ohio

- MFA from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill
Moran's interdisciplinary practice spans sculpture, photography, drawing, and painting with experimental approaches to materiality and form. Her work has been exhibited internationally in solo shows at Swarthmore College's List Gallery, John Michael Kohler Arts Center, and Kenyon College's Olin Art Gallery, alongside group exhibitions at the Philadelphia Museum of Art and New Orleans Museum of Art. She teaches graduate studio courses including \"Lo-fi Translations\" and \"Wrong Just Right\" that challenge conventional artistic boundaries.
Her professional recognition includes:
