Kate Maguire-Rosier is a Researcher and Research Associate on the Care Aesthetics Research Exploration (CARE) Project at the University of Manchester. A dancer by training, she combines her background in arts administration with academic roles, teaching in disability studies, cultural studies, media, performance, theatre, and dance across Sydney and Manchester. Her research focuses on care theory, disability aesthetics, and bridging academia with industry to enhance accessibility in art and healthcare.
Her work on the CARE Project examines interdisciplinary applications of care aesthetics, particularly in dementia care practices within NHS hospital settings. She co-authored a 2025 peer-reviewed article on healthcare support workers' practices with dementia patients, published in *Aging and Mental Health*. Kate’s research outputs emphasize qualitative methods and have garnered attention, including 13 readers on Open Access platforms.
She contributed to a dataset titled *A practice model informed by care aesthetics*, shared via Figshare, which explores healthcare support workers’ roles with dementia patients on mental health wards. This work underscores her commitment to translating academic insights into practical, accessible frameworks.
