Dr. Kate Haining is a Lecturer in the School of Psychology & Neuroscience at the University of Glasgow. Her research focuses on mental health (particularly psychosis), cognitive psychology, and quantitative methods. She specializes in studying clinical high-risk (CHR-P) populations and first-episode psychosis (FEP), exploring E-mental health tools and neuroimaging techniques like MEG and MRI.
Her PhD work investigated predictors of clinical outcomes in CHR-P and FEP individuals, including a computerized cognitive training intervention. She has collaborated on projects analyzing cognitive heterogeneity, suicidality risk, and functional outcomes in high-risk groups.
Key publications highlight her work on community-recruited samples, cognitive interventions, and machine learning approaches to predict outcomes. She holds no listed awards but has contributed to peer-reviewed journals in schizophrenia, psychiatry, and neuroscience.
Dr. Haining’s supervision includes collaborations with Prof. Peter Uhlhaas and Dr. Alessio Fracasso, focusing on psychosis-related research. She is affiliated with the Boyd Orr Building in Glasgow and maintains an active research program addressing early intervention strategies in mental health.
