Kate Gannon

Kate Gannon is an Assistant Professorial Research Fellow in the Sustainable Development team at the Grantham Research Institute on Climate Change and the Environment, London School of Economics. Her interdisciplinary research bridges human geography, science and technology studies, and environmental policy, focusing on climate-society interactions, particularly in sub-Saharan Africa and the UK private sector.

Her research explores social and institutional dimensions of climate adaptation, emphasizing gender equity, private sector roles, and water security. Projects include BASIN (water security in Africa), ATTENUATE (UK adaptation finance), WECCA (female entrepreneurs in Africa), and CREWS-UK (wine sector resilience). Recent publications address co-design methodologies, gendered vulnerability, and adaptation pathways.
