Dr. Kate Carr-Fanning is an Assistant Professor and Director of Inclusive Education at University College Dublin's School of Education. She holds dual roles as Programme Director for the MEd in Inclusive Education and the Graduate Diploma in Inclusive and Special Education. Previously, she served as Senior Lecturer and Programme Director at Coventry University and Assistant Professor at the University of Bristol. Her academic qualifications include a PhD from Trinity College Dublin and a BA from American College Dublin.
Her research focuses on inclusive education, ADHD, neurodiversity, and participatory methodologies. Key interests include school-based interventions for students with social/emotional/mental health needs, neurodivergent identities, and family dynamics. She co-leads international projects like the EU-funded 'Helping Hands' initiative and advises organizations such as ADHD Europe and InFlow (developer of CBT-informed ADHD apps).
Teaching responsibilities include coordinating modules on Inclusive Education, Inclusive Pedagogy, and Professional Practice. She actively supervises doctoral research in educational psychology. Professional activities include governance roles at Hereward College and advisory board memberships for ADHD advocacy groups.
