Kate Aschenbrenner is an Associate Professor of Law at Barry University School of Law, where she has served since summer 2009. She founded and directs the Immigration Clinic while teaching immigration law courses.

Professor Aschenbrenner specializes in Immigration Law, with deep expertise in asylum representation and clinical legal education. As director of the Immigration Clinic, she supervises law students providing legal representation to asylum seekers and immigrants. The clinic serves as a cornerstone of experiential learning within the law school's clinical program.
Prior to Barry, she served as a clinical fellow at Georgetown University Law Center's Center for Applied Legal Studies for two years. She also worked at St. Thomas University School of Law's Immigration Clinic and as an immigration staff attorney with St. Thomas University's Human Rights Institute and Gulfcoast Legal Services. After law school, she clerked for Judge Jack B. Weinstein at the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York.
