Kasper Grotle Rasmussen

Kasper Grotle Rasmussen is an Associate Professor in American History at the University of Southern Denmark (SDU), affiliated with the Department of Cultural and Linguistic Studies within the Faculty of Business and Social Sciences. He serves as editor for Økonomi og Politik and contributes to peer review for journals like Wide Screen. His research focuses on US foreign policy, transatlantic relations, and conspiracy theories, with a particular emphasis on 20th- and 21st-century political dynamics.

Research Interests: Rasmussen examines how ideas about power, democracy, and culture shape US foreign policy and transatlantic exchanges. Current projects include:

1. President Kennedy’s advisors during the 1961 Berlin Crisis
2. Historical development of the New World Order conspiracy theory
3. Danish youth attitudes toward conspiracy theories
4. Nordic conspiracy theory landscapes post-COVID-19

Grants & Activities: Engaged in 12 teaching roles, including courses on American foreign policy and conspiracy theory analysis. Participated in 14 academic activities, including a 2023 conference on Nordic youth conspiracy beliefs and media engagements in over 279 press features.
