Karoline Aastrup-Köhler is a Research Fellow at the University of Oslo's Department of Literature, Area Studies and European Languages (ILOS), where she investigates syntactic structures in early Germanic languages. Her doctoral research examines V1 word order patterns across Old English and Old Norse prose texts, employing corpus linguistics methodologies to trace potential cross-linguistic influences.
Research focuses on comparative historical syntax between Old English and Old Norse, utilizing digital corpora to analyze grammatical patterns. Key interests include word order variation, language contact phenomena, and the application of computational tools to philological research.
She engages with the English Language and Corpus Linguistics Research (ELC) group, contributing to methodological developments in diachronic language analysis. Her work bridges traditional philology with contemporary corpus-based approaches.
