Karmimadeebora McMillan is a Part-Time Lecturer at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts (SMFA) at Tufts University, where she also serves as Director of the Post-Baccalaureate Program. Based in Brooklyn, New York, she actively practices painting while teaching.

Her artistic practice explores themes of southern childhood, racism, and cultural memory through brightly colored fragmented quilted landscapes incorporating characters from racist propaganda and black dolls collected in southern flea markets. She has collaborated with Magdalena Campos-Pons in performances at the Guggenheim Museum, Queens Museum, and Havana Biennale 12.
McMillan previously worked as business manager for street artist Swoon for five years, co-founding the Heliotrope Foundation and serving as its board member and director. Her current work continues to blend personal narrative with social critique.
