Karl Schmid is a Senior Professor of Practice in the Department of Philosophy. He holds a PhD from Emory University (2020) and an MA from the University of Chicago (2014). His research focuses on Buddhist Philosophy, Philosophy of Mind, and Ethics, with a particular interest in the intersection of meditative practices and ethical frameworks. His work explores themes such as vipaśyanā (insight meditation) in Kamalaśīla's writings, as seen in his contribution to Wilfrid Sellars and Buddhist Philosophy.
