معرفی
Karl Heinrich Ludwig Pölitz (1772-1838) was a German academic and prolific writer, serving as a professor of philosophy, history, and political science at Leipzig University, Wittenberg University, and the Ritterakademie in Dresden. He held roles including associate professor of philosophy (1803), full professor of natural/international law at Wittenberg (1804–1815), and later full professor of history/statistics (1815) and political science (1820) at Leipzig. His academic journey began with a magister degree from Leipzig (1793) and habilitation in philosophy (1794).
His education included studies in philosophy, history, and theology at Leipzig University following gymnasium in Chemnitz. Pölitz was renowned for his extensive library of 13,360 volumes, donated to Leipzig City Library posthumously, and for his prolific but often criticized publications. His works spanned ethics, religion, history, political science, and law, with notable contributions like edited Kant lecture notes (1817, 1821) and encyclopedic works in philosophy and aesthetics.
Research interests emphasized interdisciplinary connections between philosophy and history, as well as modern political systems. His writings, though criticized for lacking depth, were widely accessible. No formal awards are recorded, but his legacy lies in his library and early Kantian publications. He advised no named students, and no grants or labs are noted.
