Karina Schoengold is a Professor and Associate Director of the Nebraska Water Center at the University of Nebraska - Lincoln's Department of Agricultural Economics. Her research focuses on agri-environmental policy, emphasizing water and soil management, decision-making regarding scarce inputs, and policy design impacts.
Her work is funded by NSF, USDA-NIFA, USDA-ERS, USGS, and the Water for Food Daugherty Global Institute. In the BioWRAP project, she evaluates producer willingness to adopt biopolymer-based soil films and assesses public value for ecosystem service improvements. BioWRAP aims to create customizable spray-on biopolymers for weed suppression, reduced herbicide use, and enhanced soil health.
