Karin Wirdefeldt is an Adjunct Professor of neuroepidemiology at Karolinska Institutet, affiliated with the Department of Medical Epidemiology and Biostatistics and the Department of Clinical Neuroscience. She is also a senior neurologist at the Department of Neurology, Karolinska University Hospital, Solna.

As an adjunct professor, Wirdefeldt contributes to academic leadership in neuroepidemiology and collaborates with Per Svenningsson's Neuropharmacology - Movement Disorders research group. She supervises PhD students Sara Licaj and Katalin Vincze.
