Karin Lehmann

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Karin Lehmann serves as a Professor in the Department of Architecture at Bochum University of Applied Sciences, teaching core courses including Fundamentals of Design and Architectural Theory during the 2023/2024 winter semester.

Her research centers on architectural theory, building history, and design methodology with emphasis on "genius loci" (spirit of place) investigations. This is demonstrated through her leadership of the DAAD-funded Bochum-Aversa workshop that analyzed Ruhr region sites and developed cycling route concepts in Italy's Campania region.

Prof. Lehmann actively guides student projects including the "Architecture moves!" first-semester installations and departmental initiatives like the Model Building Workshop. Her international collaborations and focus on observational drawing techniques form key elements of her pedagogical approach in architectural education.
