Kari Lehtilä is a Professor at Södertörn University's Department of Natural Sciences, Technology and Environmental Studies. His research focuses on forest biodiversity in the Baltic Sea region, landscape/seascape ecology, urban ecology, and environmental governance in low-income countries. He specializes in natural resource management, particularly in wetlands and rural African contexts, emphasizing socio-environmental justice and community-based ecotourism.
